Windsor, CO – The Colorado Eagles have agreed to terms with another player and assistant coach, defenseman Brent Thompson, head coach Chris Stewart announced today.

Since joining the WHL as a professional rookie in 1988, the Calgary native has played over 900 games in the WHL, IHL, AHL, and the NHL. Thompson has played 121 games in the NHL for the Los Angeles Kings, Winnipeg Jets, and Phoenix Coyotes. Thompson has most recently played as a defenseman and served as Captain for the Hershey Bears.

"With the addition of Brent, we have again added a little more toughness and another experienced veteran to our line-up," stated Head Coach Chris Stewart. "I am looking very forward to working with Brent and we are happy to have his family here in Northern Colorado."

"I am excited to be a part of such a fantastic franchise," stated Thompson. "The chance to coach with Stewart, and my long time friend, Phil Crowe, is an incredible opportunity and will make for a great season of hockey."

"I had the opportunity to coach Thompson when he played with the Phoenix Roadrunners at the time they were the Los Angeles Kings top farm club," said Ralph Backstrom, President and General Manager of the Colorado Eagles. "He played with extraordinary intensity and I have no doubt that with Thompson's level of dedication he will fast become a fan favorite."
