Colonials Rally and Walk-Off, Lead Series 2-1

Pittsfield, MA - The Pittsfield Colonials rallied from down 6-1 to comeback and walk-off with a 7-6 win over the Brockton Rox at Wahconah Park in Pittsfield on Friday night. The Colonials now the best-of-five game semi-final round series two-game-to-one over Brockton and can eliminate the Rox with one more win.

Pittsfield's Jason Taylor (2-for-3, 3B, HR, 3 RBI) led the rally belting a two-run homer and the game tying RBI triple in the game. Right fielder Dan Carte (2-for-4, HR, 3 RBI) also cranked a two-run shot and knocked in three runs for the Colonials. Centerfielder Quentin Davis (0-for-3, Sac, RBI) ended the game with an RBI sacrifice fly to left field to plate Taylor from third in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Colonials' reliever Matt Lyons (1-0) earned the win pitching the final two out in the top of the ninth against the Rox. Starting pitcher Kyle Zaleski ended with a no-decision, allowing six runs on nine hits over five innings of work.

Rox starting pitcher Freddy Flores also did not factor in the decision, allowing five runs on seven hits through five and two-thirds innings. Reliever Colin Lynch (0-1) suffered the loss giving up a pair of runs in the ninth inning.

Brockton right fielder Keith Brachold (1-for-4, HR, 2 RBI) smacked a two-run homer in the game while third baseman Derek Kinzler (1-for-4, 2 RBI) also knocked in a pair of runs. Designated hitter Scott Wearne (2-for-3, HR, RBI) also hit a long ball for the Rox in the losing effort.

The Colonials, ahead two-games-to-one, will look to win the series in game four tonight when they send right-hander Patrick Moran to the mound against Brockton's Wayne Lundgren at 6:05pm at Wahconah Park.
