
Colonel "Deej" Kiely on Pelicans Radio Show

The Pensacola Pelicans announced today Colonel Denis J. "Deej" Kiely will be the featured guest on the Pelicans Coaches Radio Show at New York Nick's located at 911 Palafox Place in downtown Pensacola on Saturday July 29 between 12-1 p.m.
Saturday's home game is "Vice-Admiral Jack Fetterman Tribute Night" honoring the late Pensacola leader. The first 2,000 fans will receive a commemorative Vice-Admiral Jack Fetterman T-shirt listing many of his greatest accomplishments sponsored by Navy Federal Credit Union, Independent News, Magic 106, and Q100. Game time is 6:05 p.m. against the Fort Worth Cats.
Colonel Kiely is the Director of Membership and Public Relations at Pensacola's Naval Aviation Museum Foundation and worked with the Vice-Admiral in making the Naval Aviation Museum the most revered in the country.
Colonel Kiely joined the staff of the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation in 1994 after a 30-year career as a fighter pilot in the Marine Corps. Kiely graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1959 and served three tours of combat in Vietnam.
The Colonel along with the late Vice-Admiral Jack Fetterman has helped bring Pensacola's Naval Aviation Museum onto the national scene. Kiely has provided support to movie companies, and has assisted in the presentation of such national programs as ABC's Good Morning America and a television series by Chicago's WGN-TV at the museum.
Vice-Admiral Fetterman's wife, Nancy Fetterman will be recognized and throw out the first pitch on Saturday. Several city council members will also be in attendance on Saturday night to pay their respects to one of Pensacola's most respected citizens.
Pelicans Manager Kash Beauchamp will be live at New York Nick's along with several Pelicans players to talk about the season and the upcoming series against the Fort Worth Cats. The broadcast can be heard on AM 1620 or on the Internet at www.pensacolapelicans.com. Fans are encouraged to join the team live at New York Nick's between 12-1 on Saturday.
