
Blacksnakes start road trip on positive note

ROBSTOWN, TX- St. Joe (9-11, 35-33) started their second southern swing with a 6-3 win over Coastal Bend (13-8, 36-32). Newly acquired Cory Harris hit his first home run with the Blacksnakes to break a 3-3 tie in the eighth.
St. Joe scored runs in each of the first two innings for a 2-0 lead. Ben Thomas scored on a double steal when shortstop Jack Joffrion throw wildly home in the first. In the second, Aviators starter Bryan Heaston walked four straight batters to force in a run.
The Aviators scored the next three and took the lead, 3-2, on Matt Creighton's two-run home run in the sixth. But St. Joe rallied to score the last four of the game.
After tying the game in the seventh on a Mark Burke sacrifice fly, Cory Harris delivered a two-run go ahead home run. Harris was picked up yesterday from Lincoln on waivers and hit his 12th home run of the year. Wil Quintana started the ninth with his league-best 16th home run for the final margin.
The 'Snakes look for their third win in a row Friday night against the Aviators at 7:05pm. Andrew Edwards (1-3) takes the hill against Coastal Bend's Tim McGough (2-4). The broadcast beginst at 6:45pm at www.stjoeblacksnakes.com.
