March 1, 2024 - NBA G League (G League)
College Park Skyhawks News Release
COLLEGE PARK, Ga. - In an exciting collaboration that signifies VyStar Credit Union's expansion into Atlanta and the northern regions of Georgia, the College Park Skyhawks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, today announced a new dynamic partnership with VyStar. This new Proud Partner of the Skyhawks underscores the organization's commitment to supporting local talent and fostering community growth through sports.
Highlighting this partnership, the Skyhawks have announced "Military Appreciation Night Presented by VyStar Credit Union" later tonight on March 1st, when the Skyhawks host the Cleveland Charge at Gateway Center Arena @ College Park. This special event is dedicated to honoring the unwavering spirit and sacrifices of both current and former military members. Among those recognized will be distinguished guests from the local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans hosted by VyStar, alongside notable groups invited by the Skyhawks.
"We can't wait to get to work with VyStar Credit Union," said Janice Koon, Vice President of G League, and NBA 2K League Operations for the Atlanta Hawks. "Having VyStar as a Proud Partner will be a great addition moving forward, and together we are honored to celebrate those who have served and currently serve this country at our game today."
The first 1,500 fans through the gates will receive exclusive rally towels, a token of the celebration to keep the energy soaring all night long. The co-branded towels, emblazoned with the Skyhawks and VyStar logos are a thank you to our loyal fans and military members in attendance to make this event truly memorable. VyStar members will be able to purchase tickets to any upcoming Skyhawks home game at a discounted rate on vystarcu.org as part of the credit union's member perks program.
"We are excited to be a Proud Partner of the College Park Skyhawks, a collaboration that marks VyStar's commitment to supporting organizations and members within the communities we are privileged to serve," said VyStar SVP/Market President, Janean Armstrong. "VyStar has been a proud supporter of the military since our founding in 1952, so we can't think of a better event to kick off our partnership than by honoring our military men and women."
VyStar opened six new branches last year, including its first in Metro Atlanta. The credit union plans to open three additional branches in Georgia and three branches in Florida this year. VyStar donated more than $6.6 million to over 400 nonprofit organizations and employees contributed more than 32,000 volunteer hours in 2023 in the communities it serves.
The Skyhawks began a six-game home stand starting on Wednesday, Feb. 28th against the Cleveland Charge, concluding on Mar. 9th against the Osceola Magic. Fans can visit cpskyhawks.com to secure their seats now.
