Carolina Cobras News Release

GREENSBORO, NC - The Carolina Cobras announce the return of First Team All-NAL WR Kendrick Ings for the 2022 season.

Kendrick Ings (5' 10" 180, Fort Valley State) After an absolutely dominant season in 2021, WR/KR Kendrick Ings makes his return to the Snake Pit. Earning First Team All-NAL honors at both Wide Receiver as well as Kick Returner, with insane stats over a nine-game season. In 2021 Ings led the Cobras with 58 receptions for 803 yards and an incredible 22 TDs, but wait, there is more, he also had 11 kick returns for 241 yards, including two more TDs. He was second in the NAL in scoring at 16 points per game. Success is nothing new to Ings though, as he has been a superstar for years. In 2019 Ings dominated with 58 receptions for 627 yards and 9 touchdowns and had one kick return for a TD. He was in the AFL for five seasons, amassing 252 receptions for 3,112 yards and 49 TDs, plus another 198 kick returns for 3,645 yards and nine TDs. Ings also spent time on both of the practice squads of both the Detroit Lions and Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL and was signed by the CFL's BC Lions. All of this was accomplished with never playing a down in college, but with a lot of hard work and determination. You can see it in how he plays, always with a chip on his shoulder and only greatness in his sights. He out homework's his opposition because just listening to him on the sidelines during the game, you can hear him calling out the defense the opponent is running, because you can tell he put in the work in the film room. You simply can't outwork, or out study him. He won't allow it. It also makes him a great leader. This is what he had to say about coming back to Carolina, "I decided to come back to play with the Cobras because the love I got from the coaches and the fans was real and pure. I was treated well from the owner down to the staff and I really enjoyed playing for the coaches and my teammates. It was a fun year and I am looking forward to coming back and going after that ring!"

His message for Cobra Nation " I miss y'all, hope all is well and healthy. Can't wait to see y'all again, before, during and after the games! Don't change a thing, just come on back, support us like you always do. Let's have a good time and win, win, win, and keep on winning! Thank you so much, and I am blessed to be back! From ya boy 17live!"

Coach Resignalo said, "100% Ings will push all NAL players to be the league's MVP. We have unfinished business from the 2021 season and 2022 is the year the NAL Trophy comes back to Carolina! Ings is a tough matchup for any DB 1 on1 and can score from anywhere on the field. He is also the top kick returner in the league and will look to dominate in not 2 phases of the game but all 3. Ings, like many players in the NAL, is an athlete that can dominate in any phase of the game. We as a staff continue to evaluate players that will help us be one of the top if not the top team in the NAL! That is what will bring the ship home back to Greensboro!"
