Greensboro- LaQuan McGowan (6'7, 410) signs with the Carolina Cobras for his first year of arena football.
McGowan played tight end and offensive lineman for Baylor University from 2011-2015. During his junior season in 2014, McGowan helped the Bears achieve a Big 12 Championship and was selected as a tight end on Sports Illustrated's 2015 All-Bowl team. McGowan gained national attention when he caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Bryce Petty in the Cotton Bowl against No.7 Michigan State. During his senior season in 2015, McGowan earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention and had two touchdowns.
McGowan is a native of Amarillo, Texas and played high school football at Cal Farley's Boys Ranch High School. McGowan started all four years in high school, playing on the offensive line, defensive line and place-kicker. McGowan also played basketball and earned a gold medal in shot put.
