BROCKTON, MA - (June 28, 2009) - Brockton Rox first baseman Clyde Williams hit two home runs, drove in five RBI and scored four runs in Sunday's 10-3 win over New Hampshire. Williams needed three hits in the game to reach 1,000 for his career, and in storybook fashion he hit a towering three-run home run to right field in his last at-bat to complete a three for three day with two home runs.

Williams' two home runs were not the only hit on the day for the team leading the Can-Am League in home runs. LF Keith Brachold also connected on his sixth homer of the year, a two-run shot in the sixth inning. Brachold and Williams combined to drive in eight of the Rox ten runs.

As a team, Brockton hit three home runs, two triples, a double and four singles in the game.

Almost overshadowed in the drama was another solid outing by Rox starter RHP Wayne Lundgren. Lundgren collected his third win of the year, allowing just two runs (one earned) on seven hits in seven innings. He walked one batter and struck out five. RHP Keith Noe and RHP Jerry Dunn combined to record the final six outs of the game.

The Rox put the game away behind Lundgren's outing and the offense scoring in four consecutive innings over the middle of the game. Brockton scored once in the fourth an fifth innings, three times in the sixth, and three times in the seventh.

The Rox have Monday off before embarking on a six-game road trip beginning in Worcester on Tuesday. LHP Fraser Robinson (1-2, 5.27 ERA) will start Tuesday for the Rox.
