Brown Powers Sussex To 12-5 Victory

AUGUSTA, N.J. - Sussex second baseman Chris Brown went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBI to power the Skyhawks to a 12-5 win over Quebec on Sunday afternoon at Skylands Park. Left fielder Ryan Crespi finished 3-for-5 with three runs scored to help the Skyhawks offensively. Every Sussex starter registered at least one hit, as the team totaled 17 hits off Quebec pitching.
Roger Lincoln (2-1) gave up three runs on six hits in six innings of work to earn the win for Sussex. Quebec starter Michel Simard (3-3) was saddled with the loss after giving up eight runs over five innings of work.
Sussex scored six runs on seven hits in the bottom of the fifth to build an 8-1 advantage. The Skyhawks added four more runs in the bottom of the eighth, highlighted by a two-run home run by designated hitter Luis Soto.
Ivan Naccarata was 2-for-4 with two RBI in the losing cause for Quebec.
After an off day on Monday, the Skyhawks return to Skylands Park on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. for a game with the New Jersey Jackals. Quebec travels to New Hampshire on Monday for a 6:35 p.m. date with the American Defenders.
