Close Game Ends in a Blast

A home run led the Lookouts to a close game and down to the last inning in the 4-1 loss to the Smokies last night. Chris Paul hit his sixth homer of the season in the fourth inning for the lead. Defense and pitching would hold off the Smokies for the next five innings including Jaylin Davis throwing ou the tying run in the fifth. Pitching escaped a a near disaster in the eighth then felt the blast in the ninth. With Tyler Jay on the mound and two out Wynton Bernard blasted a pitch into the left field bleachers for the win with his grand slam. Anthony Marzi worked a three hit five inning outing and came away without the win. Paul finished the night with three of the Lookouts six hits. Game two tomorrow afternoon at 5:30 EDT will see Omar Bencomo for the Lookouts facing Keegan Thompson. Air time on MiLB.com and Real 96.1 FM begins at 5:15 EDT.
