Ottawa Lynx News Release

Player of the Game: Columbus' Henn was terrific in picking up his third win of the year.

Key Plays: Columbus scored the only two runs that Sean Henn would need in the fourth inning on RBI hits by Mitch Jones and Felix Escalona.

Recap: In a game that was a great pitching matchup, both the Clippers Sean Henn and the Lynx John Maine breezed through the first three innings. In the fourth the Clippers touched up Maine for two runs on four hits, with RBI going to Mitch Jones on a double and Felix Escalona with a single. From here on in the story of the game was Sean Henn. Henn kept the Lynx without a hit through the first 7.0 innings and retired thirteen straight batters at one point in the game. The Lynx broke up Henn's no-hit bid in the eighth, when 1B Walter Young led off with a soft line drive single to left. One out later Eli Whiteside singled to left, but that was all the offense that Ottawa could muster on this evening, as Henn would work out of the jam and then throw a one-two-three ninth to complete the game. The game ended in only 1:57, which ties for the shortest nine-inning Lynx game of the season.

Notes:

Walter Young: 1-for-3

Eli Whiteside: 1-for-2

Next Game: The Lynx and Clippers meet in the third game of this four game set tomorrow, with first pitch scheduled for 6:05 pm.

Probable pitchers for Wednesday's game:

Wednesday vs. Columbus, 6:05 pm Ottawa RHP Dave Borkowski (3-6, 4.38) vs. Columbus RHP Pete Munro (3-5, 5.61)
