Clippers Fall to Hustle
December 9, 2019 - NBA G League (G League)
Ontario Clippers News Release
ONTARIO, Calif. - The Agua Caliente Clippers (5-6) couldn't keep up with the Memphis Hustle (11-1), falling 111-92 in the Monday afternoon contest.
The game started off close, with the score knotted at 24 to end the first quarter, but sloppy play by the Clippers helped the Hustle end the half on a 13-2 run to take a 54-42 advantage. Agua Caliente came out of the half strong, knocking down their first five three-point attempts (10-for-19 for the game) to cut the Memphis lead down to four, but ran out of gas down the stretch.
Markel Crawford led all Clipper scorers with 20 points, on an efficient seven-of-eight shooting from the field, and knocked down all five of his three-point attempts. Johnathan Motley added his fourth double-double of the season, with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
The Hustle were led by Marquis Teague's game-high 25 points on 11-of-17 shooting from the field.
The Clippers hit the road next to take on the Santa Cruz Warriors on Friday, December 14. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. PST inside the Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz, Calif.
