Ontario Clippers News Release
Orlando, FL - Raptors 905 (3-2) defeated the Agua Caliente Clippers (2-3), 121-115, Wednesday morning at the HP Field House. 905 Center Henry Ellenson led all scorers with 27 points and nine rebounds, while Toronto Raptors assignee Malachi Flynn contributed 26 points to the victory. The Clippers were led by Jordan Ford, who scored 23 points off the bench in defeat.
Raptors 905 continued its string of strong starts, leading the Clippers 34-23 after the opening 12 minutes, bolstered by Ellenson's 12-point effort in the period. The home side would continue to grow its lead in the second frame, Dewan Hernandez providing nine second quarter points to lead 905 to a 67-50 advantage at the break.
Ellenson continued his strong play in the third, adding 12 more points to his total and leading the 905 to a 94-78 advantage headed to the fourth. Agua Caliente was able to trim its deficit in the fourth to three points with 18.6 seconds remaining, but the 905 converted key final possessions to stifle the Clippers' comeback bid.
Jalen Smith, on flex-assignment from the Phoenix Suns, added 18 points and four rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench in his second game for Agua Caliente.
The Clippers look to return to the win column on Friday as they host the Canton Charge. The ballgame tips off at 4:00 p.m. PT inside the AdventHealth Arena at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, FL.
