BILOXI, MS. - Biloxi Shuckers outfielder Clint Coulter has recorded a hit in all seven of his Biloxi starts and today was named Southern League Player of the Week. Coulter was promoted to Biloxi from A+ Brevard County on August 5 and since then has batted .542 (13x24) with a double, two home runs, four RBI and eight runs scored.

The 23-year-old started his Biloxi career by reaching base safely in six consecutive at-bats, including a 4-for-4 stretch at the plate. The converted catcher also scored the first five time on base, including a game-winner as a pinch runner in the 10th inning of the Shuckers' 5-4 walk-off over the Pensacola Blue Wahoos in his debut on Aug. 5. The 2012 first-round draft pick is on a seven-game hitting streak dating back to his final game with Brevard County (Aug. 4), going 14-for-29 with eight runs, a double, two home runs and five RBI.

The Camas, Wash. native has homered in back-to-back games, Saturday and Sunday in Jackson, including a stretch of five hits in five consecutive plate appearances.

In 96 games combined this season between Brevard and Biloxi this season, Coulter has posted a .242 batting average with 14 doubles, three triples, eight home runs and 36 RBI.

Coulter was Milwaukee's first round selection (27th overall) in the 2012 draft out of Union HS (WA). Coulter has twice been named a Player of the Week in his career, April, 2014 while with A- Wisconsin and in July, 2015, while with A+ Brevard County. Coulter was a mid-season All-Star in the Midwest League in 2014 and Florida State League in 2015. He was also named the Brewers Minor League Player of the Year in 2014.

Coulter is the second Biloxi Shucker to earn Player of the Week honors this season, joining OF Brett Phillips who won the award in May. RHP Brandon Woodruff was named Southern League Pitcher of the Week in back-to-back weeks from July 11-24.

Former Shucker Jed Bradley was named Southern League Pitcher of the Week.

Biloxi will look to salvage the series in the finale of the five-game set on Monday night and The Ballpark at Jackson. RHP Brooks Hall (4-2, 3.47) makes the start for Biloxi against Jackson's RHP Paul Blackburn (7-5, 3.34) First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., with coverage starting at 6:45 p.m. on the Biloxi Shuckers' Radio Network's flagship station WGCM 1240 AM, 100.9 FM, Pascagoula's WPMO 1580 AM and the TuneIn Radio app.

The Shuckers return to MGM Park for two games with the Mobile BayBears, next Wednesday and Thursday, August 17-18. Thursday is Double Play Thursday with $2 hot dogs, $2 soft drinks and $2 off select draft beer and reserved level tickets. It's also the Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Arty Jersey Auction featuring George Ohr's iconic photo on the jersey.
