Jacksonville, FL - The Jacksonville Suns homered twice on Monday night to sink Lucas Sims and the Mississippi Braves 5-1 in the series finale at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

Sims (4-4) took the loss for Mississippi (31-18; 65-53), allowing five runs on six hits over four innings, walking four and striking out one. Dillon Peters (2-0) nabbed the win in his home debut for the Suns (24-26; 54-66), allowing just a run on four hits over six innings with five strikeouts.

The Braves started the scoring in the first inning. Ozzie Albies doubled to lead off the game, stole third, and came in on a Carlos Franco groundout to second.

But Jacksonville rattled off five unanswered runs over the ensuing four frames against the Braves starter Sims. With two out in the first, Alex Glenn tied the game with a solo home run to deep right, his fourth homer of the year.

In the third, the Suns took the lead for good with another long ball. Austin Dean drew a one-out walk, and Brian Anderson hit a two-run homer to left, his sixth, to make it 3-1 Jacksonville.

The Suns stretched the lead with two more in the fourth off Sims to end his day early. He walked the first three batters of the inning, and Peters grounded into a 4-6-3 double play to score a run and make it 4-1. Then with a runner at third, a wild pitch to Kenny Wilson brought home Peter Mooney for a 5-1 lead.

Taylor Lewis came on in relief in the fifth and allowed just a hit in two scoreless innings, and AJ Minter and Caleb Dirks added a scoreless inning apiece for the Braves.

Mississippi will head back to Trustmark Park to open up a South Division potential playoff preview, entertaining the Pensacola Blue Wahoos for a five-game series beginning Wednesday night at 7:00 PM CT. Left-hander Sean Newcomb (6-7, 4.04) will get the nod in the series opener for the Braves.
