Clearwater sets single game attendance mark

Clearwater, Fl- The Clearwater Threshers set a single game attendance record of 8,216 on Friday, June 30th at Bright House Networks Field versus the Lakeland Tigers.

The crowd surpassed the previous record of 7,027 set on June 18, 2004. The Zooperstars act, a Fireworks Extravaganza and Bright House Networks Customer Appreciation Night all contributed to the milestone.

Through 36 games this season, Clearwater has notched an attendance of 85,699 and an average of 2,381 which is ten behind the Florida State League lead.

A spring training record of 9,893 was also set this year on Sunday, March 26th versus the Boston Red Sox.

Bright House Networks Field opened on February 27, 2004. The facility hosts the Philadelphia Phillies Spring Training and Clearwater Threshers home games. There are 7,200 fixed seats with additional 1,500 grass berm seating.

This is the third season the Threshers have acted as the Phillies Advanced-A affiliate. The Clearwater Phillies represented Philadelphia in the previous 19 seasons (1985-2003). The Phillies have been holding their Spring Training camp in Clearwater since 1947.
