AMARILLO, TX – Amarillo Gorillas hockey fans will have an opportunity to participate in a unique activity this Saturday prior to the game against the Wichita Thunder.

It's the 101.5 KAT Country/Clear Channel Amarillo Tailgate Party that will take place in the back parking lot of the Civic Center from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring their favorite recipes, cookers, smokers and barbeques and have some fun. There will be giveaways and a special appearance by Stomp, The Gorillas Mascot.

"Tailgate parties are a blast no matter what sport and we are thrilled that Clear Channel has decided to organize this event," said Director of Media Relations Denis J. Puska. "We had an in-prompt-due tailgate party at the end of last season that was a huge success and we hope this one is the beginning of an annual event."

On Saturday night the Gorillas will host the much-improved Wichita Thunder, beginning at 7 p.m. at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center. It is Cox Communications Night and there will be two NHL Center Ice Packages to be given away.
