Parsons, Reid Capture CHL Honors

Both the two-time defending champion Memphis RiverKings and the San Angelo Saints are off to perfect 2-0-0 records to start the season, in large part due to week one's Bauer/Nike CHL Player of the Week Don Parsons and Vaughn CHL Goalie of the Week Scott Reid. In Memphis, two-time defending CHL Most Valuable Player Parsons led the RiverKings to back to back wins with three goals and two assists, while netminder Reid allowed just two goals in two victories for San Angelo.
Parsons, who led the CHL in both goals (57) and points (106) last year, opened his season in Oklahoma City October 17th by scoring twice and adding an assist on the game winning goal late in the third period of a 4-3 victory over the Blazers. The following night, in the RiverKings sold-out home opener, he added his third goal of the season and an assist in a 3-1 win over the Fort Worth Brahmas.
In San Angelo, Reid helped the Saints off to an impressive start by posting back-to-back victories, allowing just a single goal against in each contest. October 17th he turned aside 28 of 29 shots in a 4-1 win in Odessa, then came back with a 34 save effort in a 3-1 victory over Rio Grande Valley in the Saints' home opener. Reid currently leads all CHL goaltenders in victories (2), while posting a miniscule 1.00 GAA.
