Indianapolis Ice News Release

OPENING NIGHT HISTORY: With the Ice's 5-2 win against Bossier-Shreveport this past Saturday, the team improved its CHL opening night record to 4-0-1. The overall opening night record for the 16 years of the franchise now stands at 5-6-5.

DUMBA SUPREMACY: The Ice received immediate help in the offensive department from Jared Dumba this past weekend. Dumba, who led the Ice in goals (32) last year, felt comfortable off the opening face-off as he tallied two of Indy's five goals in the first period of play. He led the Ice in multi-goal games last season with seven.

SURE HAND SANGER: Goaltender Jeff Sanger made his Ice debut in sure hand fashion as the 24-year-old netminder stopped 26 of 28 shots in the win. Sanger, the first by-product from the team's affiliation with Chicago and Norfolk, outdueled one of the CHL's finer goaltenders in the Mudbugs' Ken Carroll. Before Saturday night's Ice win, Carroll was 4-1-1 with a 1.67 GAA in six career games against Indianapolis.
