Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release
Hagerstown, Md. - The Hagerstown Suns (8-6) picked up two runs in the first, and rode solid pitching to a 3-1 win over the Lakewood BlueClaws (3-11). The loss marks the end of the first road trip of the season, on which the BlueClaws went 2-5.
Hagerstown didn't wait long to get on the board in the daytime affair. Tony Renda led off the game with a single, he then stole second and Estarlin Martinez walked to put two on with two out for Wander Ramos. The centerfielder stayed red hot and hit a triple to center that plated both runners and gave the Suns an early 2-0 lead.
The same could not be said for the Lakewood bats, as they were held hitless through the first four innings. Hagerstown starter Brett Mooneyham pitched into the fifth, however he was forced to come out with an injury with one out in the frame.
Brian Rauh was the first out of the bullpen and was greeted by a double off the bat of Chad Carman, Lakewood's first hit. With two down in the inning, Angelo Mora plated the catcher and cut the deficit in half at 2-1.
The Suns picked up a third run with two down in the seventh inning. Renda hit a single to center and Stephen Perez scored, after he walked.
On the mound for the BlueClaws it was Kevin Brady who started and gave up the two runs in the first. Following that inning, Brady (0-2) settled in and finished six innings. He allowed two runs on four hits; he walked three and struck out eight. Andrew Aizenstadt allowed the run in the seventh and Zach Cooper wrapped the game up on the mound with a scoreless eighth.
Mooneyham's afternoon came to an end after four and one-third innings. He did not factor in the decision, and did not allow a hit or a run. He walked two and struck out two.
Rauh (1-1) picked up the win with three and two-thirds in relief. He allowed the one run on three hits. He did not walk a batter, and struck out five. Robert Benincasa got out of a jam in the ninth and locked down his third save.

The Lakewood BlueClaws return home from the first road trip of the season and welcome the Savannah Sand Gnats into FirstEnergy Park. Thursday night at 6:35PM marks the first game of the four game series. RHP Miguel Nunez (0-0, 3.24) is slated to get the start for Lakewood and RHP Gabriel Ynoa (1-1, 4.00) will go for Savannah in the series opener.
