Clancy, Lidgett Join Havoc

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Huntsville Havoc head coach Glenn Detulleo announced today that defenseman Paul Clancy and forward John Lidgett have been signed to tryout agreements.

Clancy (6-0, 205) has played in 73 professional games all with the Mississippi RiverKings. The Newmarket, Ontario native scored four goals and recorded 11 assists. He played one season at York University in 2011-12 where he scored one goal and recorded seven assists in 21 games. He played in 235 career junior games and scored 22 goals and recorded 73 assists.

"We are very excited to add another defenseman to our training camp with two years of professional experience," Detulleo said. "From coaching against Paul we know how hard he battles and competes. We expect him to come in right away and provide leadership for our young group."

Lidgett (5-9, 180) spent the past four seasons playing on the collegiate level at Colgate University. The Edmonton, Alberta native played in 149 games and scored 19 goals and recorded 32 assists. He played in 104 career junior games where he scored 31 goals and recorded 47 assists.

John is coming to us from a very good program in Colgate University where he had a terrific college career," Detulleo said. "He is a very well-rounded player, and we believe he will be able to compete for minutes in every situation for us."

"I'm very appreciative of the opportunity given to me by the Havoc," Lidgett said. "If I play for Huntsville this season, fans can expect a fast and aggressive style of play."

The Havoc open the season on the road on October 23rd at Columbus. The home opener on Pharmacy First Ice will be November 10th against Knoxville.
