RiverKings Ink Devin Mantha to Deal

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - The Mississippi RiverKings, the longest continually operating professional sports franchise in the greater Memphis area, and Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser have announced today that they have re-signed forward Devin Mantha. Terms and conditions were not released.

Mantha, 26, has played in all 112 regular-season games with the RiverKings over the last two seasons, contributing 88 points (37g, 51a). The third-year-pro scored 20 goals for the first time in his pro career in 2014-15, while also adding 25 assists to finish with a career-high 45 points. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound center was fourth on the team with with a plus-16 rating. He was tied for second on the team with five game-winning goals and was fourth with 10 power-play points (4ppg, 6ppa). After the turn of the calendar, he finished with 34 points (16g, 18a) over the final 34 games of the regular season.

"I am excited to have 'Manny' back for another season in a RiverKings jersey," said Landmesser. "He has been a big part of our success the past two seasons. He plays in all situations for us and is one of, if not the hardest working players in the league."

In eight career SPHL playoff games with the RiverKings, Mantha has five points (3g, 2a). He played his college hockey at two schools, playing for Miami (Ohio) University from 2009 to 2011 and the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire from 2011 to 2013. In his four-year college career, Mantha had 34 points (13g, 21a), including a career-high 17 during his senior season in 2012-13. He played one game with Nueilly-sur-Marne in France in early September.

"I'm really excited to have the opportunity to play for the RiverKings for another season," said Mantha. "I have a great deal of respect for the organization and I have really enjoyed my time spent with the team. I'm looking to improve on our bittersweet season last year and bring home a championship for the community and fans."
