
CJ Alexander Smacks Third Homer of Series, M-Braves Drop Series Finale to Biscuits 8-1

PEARL, MS - The M-Braves pitching staff struck out a season-high 21 batters, CJ Alexander smacked his 10th homer of the season, but the Mississippi Braves (24-27) dropped the series finale 8-1 to the Montgomery Biscuits (20-24).
Alexander homered to start the scoring in the second inning. The third baseman smashed a ball over the high right field wall and into the Farm Bureau Grill. Alexander is now hitting .266 with 10 home runs and 25 RBI in 39 games this season.
RHP Alan Rangel pitched four innings in his 10th start of the season. The right-hander gave up one run off two hits and three walks with nine strikeouts. Atlanta's No. 21 prospect holds a 4.32 ERA and 57 strikeouts over 41 2/3 innings.
The pitching staff set a season-high with 21 strikeouts. RHP Indigo Diaz struck out the side in a 1-2-3 ninth inning, dropping to a 3.66 ERA in 19 2/3 innings.
Montgomery scored the final eight runs of the game to win 8-1 and take five of six games in the series.
The M-Braves will get a day off before a six-game road series against Rocket City from June 7-12. The club will return home on June 14-19 for a six-game homestand against the Birmingham Barons.
