
City & County Championships to be Held May 14

INDIANAPOLIS -- Four Indiana high school baseball programs are scheduled to take part in the 12th annual City & County Championships at Victory Field on Friday, May 14. The City Championship game is scheduled to start at 5 p.m., while the County Championship game is set to begin no earlier than 7:30 p.m.
The City Championship game will feature Indianapolis Cathedral High School against Heritage Christian High School at 5:00 p.m. Cathedral has posted an 18-1 record thus far this season and is ranked as the No. 2 Class 4A team in the state, while Heritage Christian - the defending Class 2A State Champion - is 18-3 on the year and is currently the No. 1 ranked Class 2A team.
The County Championship game will feature Brebeuf Jesuit Prepatory against Lawrence Central High School beginning at 7:30 p.m. Brebeuf is led by 2009 Marion County Coach of the Year John Zangrilli and currently ranks as the No. 2 Class 3A team in the state with an 18-2 record. Lawrence Central High School is 16-3 on the season and is ranked as the No. 10 Class 4A squad in the state.

Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and admission for both games is $5. Parking is available at Victory Field for $3. Victory Field is located at 501 West Maryland Street on the southwest corner of downtown Indianapolis.
