Pensacola Blue Wahoos News Release
An active crowd of over 4,600 fans saw Blue Wahoos starter Tony Cingrani set a new Wahoos single-game strikeout record by fanning 15 Jackson Generals batters. The left-handed starter worked eight shut-out innings and faced just one over the minimum as the Wahoos evened the series with a 5-0 win.
Cingrani was perfect until he walked a batter with two outs in the fifth, and he didn't allow his first hit until a one-out single in the seventh.
The crowd gave him a warm reception after he was recognized for his efforts on the videoboard when Curtis Partch came in to replace him to start the ninth.
The Wahoos are now 4-3 in the second half and are back to an even 38-38 record on the season.
Tomorrow, it's Thirsty Thursday which means $2 beer specials and $1 sodas. It all starts when gates open at 5:30.
If you can't make it to the game, no worries, WFGX MY35 will air all the action live. You can also listen on the Blue Wahoos flagship station 1450 ESPN Pensacola beginning with the Pensacola Motorsports Pregame show at 6:15 p.m.
