Pensacola's Cingrani Strikes Out 15 Generals Wednesday

PENSACOLA, FLA. (JUNE 27, 2012) - Blue Wahoos' starter Tony Cingrani struck out a Pensacola record 15 batters en route to eight shutout innings pitched as Jackson fell, 5-0. The Wahoos lefty faced just one above the minimum on Wednesday at Maritime Park. Cingrani tossed did not allow a General to reach base safely until Leury Bonilla singled in the seventh with one out. The Pensacola win evens the series at 1-1 and drops Jackson to 46-31 on the season, 4-3 in the second half.

Generals' starter Forrest Snow had a 42 pitch first inning in which Pensacola plated two runs and led 2-0. Josh Fellhauer delivered an RBI double and Yordanys Perez brought in the second run with a sacrifice fly.

Pensacola added two more runs in the seventh inning against Jackson reliever Moises Hernandez. Ryan LaMarre plated a run with an RBI triple and Fellhauer tallied his second RBI with a single to left. The Wahoos picked up their fifth run in the eighth against reliever Jandy Sena and won by the score of 5-0.

Jackson starter Forrest Snow (0-2) retired 12 in a row after the first inning, but still took the loss. In 4.2 innings, he allowed two runs on three hits (all in the first inning), while striking out two and walking three. Cingrani (2-1) earned the win striking out 15 and walking one over eight innings pitched. Cingrani allowed three hits.

The Generals continue their five-game series with Pensacola on Thursday night at Maritime Park, with first pitch at 7:00 p.m. LHP Anthony Fernandez (1-0, 1.00) makes his second Jackson start Wednesday and will be opposed by Pensacola RHP Kyle Lotzkar (4-2, 3.47).
