Cincinnati Cyclones Sign Brett Motherwell

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators, announced this afternoon they have signed defenseman Brett Motherwell.

Motherwell, 23, is in his third professional season, having spent last season with Providence (AHL) for four games before moving to Europe and playing 23 games with Graz EZ (Austria), netting three goals and adding six assists for nine points.

The five-foot-eleven, 195 pound native of St. Charles, IL, played two seasons at Boston College (where he was a teammate of current Cyclones Brian O'Hanley). His rookie season was spent with Elmira for two games and then in the AHL for 48 games with Syracuse, where Motherwell collected two goals and 14 assists for 16 points.

The Cyclones host Johnstown on a Thirsty Thursday (Nov. 5) at 7:30pm. Friday night (Nov. 6), it is the annual Throwback Night-with the Cyclones wearing their original silver sheen jerseys from the first season (1990-91). Saturday (Nov. 7), the home and home with Toledo comes to an end with a 7pm visit to the Lucas County Arena. The club returns to U.S. Bank Arena on Thursday, November 5 against Johnstown at 7:30pm.
