Reading's Giliati Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Stefano Giliati of the Reading Royals is the Sher-wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Oct. 26-Nov. 1.

The 22 year old had two goals and six points to help the Royals go 3-0-0 to improve to 4-2-2 and move into second place in the East Division.

The 5-foot-11 and 200-pound left wing had three points (1g-2a) in 4-3 wins against Toledo on Oct. 29 and Johnstown on Oct. 31.

Giliati had a league season-high six-game goal streak (6g) and a six-game point streak (6g-8a) from Oct. 17-31. He is tied for the league lead with 14 points and is tied for third with six goals.

He played in the American Hockey League as a rookie in 2008-09 and had 15 points (6g-9a) in 53 games for the Toronto Marlies.

On behalf of Stefano Giliati, a case of pucks will be donated to a Reading youth hockey organization by Sher-wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-wood Hockey has donated more than 22,700 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
