Ontario Reign Name The Jester Contest Winner

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings, unveiled the name of their third mascot at their home opener on Friday, October 30th, 2009. The Reign's newest mascot is, Puck the Jester.

Puck has been around long before the sport of hockey. Puck is the nickname of Robin Goodfellow from William Shakespeare's, A Mid Summer's Night Dream. Puck is an English mythological figure whom is known for his elf like persona. He is said to be a trickster who is both clever and mischievous in his ways.

The Ontario Reign held an open contest for fans to name their new mascot. After receiving thousands of entries, the Ontario Reign front office staff held a vote on all the entries from the contest. Puck was announced during the pre-game ceremony to the crowd of 8,067 fans on Friday night. The winner of the Name the Jester contest is Stu Barnes, of Ontario. Stu was awarded with two lower level season tickets for naming the Reign's third mascot, Puck the Jester.

Reign Drops:

Ontario Reign's next game is Wednesday, November 4th and the puck drops at 7:00 pm. Each Wednesday home game is pack the arena night. Any upper level ticket is only $5. This offer is only available at the Citizens Business Bank Arena box office and does not include the $3 facility fee. Tickets subject to availability. Remember parking is always FREE.

Friday, November 6th be sure to come out to the pre-game rally party at Hooters from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. There will be special beer and food pricing and prizes will be given out. It is "Scout Night" at Citizens Business Bank Arena on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Also, it's Farmer John Friday with 2 for 1 hot dogs and FREE oil change Friday, compliments of Certified Transmission Car Care.

Saturday, November 7th we will be handing out Reign hats, in our first Reign Gear Giveaway to the first 3,000 fans in attendance, compliments of Church's Chicken. Game starts at 7:00 pm.

Sunday, November 8th is family Sunday with 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs and 4 sodas for ONLY $44. Puck drops at 5:00 pm.
