BOSIE, ID - In a rain-shortened game, the Idaho Falls Chukars (3-1) defeated the Boise Hawks (1-3) 7-5 on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium. The Chukars have now won three straight over the Hawks, and will look to take the first series tomorrow.

Idaho Falls put up a four-spot in the first against Hawks starter Matt Dallas (L, 0-1). Steve Barmakian drew a leadoff walk and stole second. Matt Feinstein reached on an error by the second baseman Kobe Lopez, putting Barmakian at third. Calvin Estrada drove Barmakian in on a sac fly to make it 1-0. Feinstein swiped second base and scored on a Hunter Hisky RBI single, putting Boise in a 2-0 deficit. The Chukars then loaded up the bases on a Dusty Stroup single and Andrew Don reached on a fielder's choice. Brady West brought them home to score on an RBI double, giving the Chukars a 4-0 cushion.

Damon Ellis retired the side in the first, but was chased from the game in the second inning with two outs after Boise tied the game 4-4 on an RBI single from Juan Teixiera, an RBI groundout from Kobe Lopez, and a two-run single by Greg White. Ramsey Romano (W 1-0), took over on the mound and ended the inning with a groundout.

Boise took the lead on a sac fly from Lopez in the bottom of the fourth, but the Chukars countered with two runs in the fifth. Estrada drew a walk, and Hisky scored him a double to tie it up, 5-5. Hisky advanced to third on an error by Lopez, and was driven in on a sac fly from Stroup that gave the Chukars the lead back, 6-5.

In the sixth, Feinstein brought in Barmakian on an RBI single, his first RBI of the season that capped the scoring at 7-5. After Tyler Wyatt worked a scoreless bottom sixth, the game was halted due to rain in the area and later called official after six innings.

The series continues tomorrow with first pitch scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Boise's starter is TBD and the Chukars will start RHP Jack Dicenso.
