Chukars Thrash Mustangs 20-3

Idaho Falls, ID - The Idaho Fall Chukars (25-12) hand the Billings Mustangs(12-25) their largest loss of the season, defeating the Stangs 20-3.

Idaho Falls broke open the scoreless game in the second inning after Jesus Rosario walked two runners. Tyler Kelly blasted a double to drive home both runs and take a 2-0 lead after two.

Thomas Debonville singled in the third to make it 3-0 after three innings before the floodgates opened in the fourth inning. The Chukars scored nine runs on just three hits. Tyler Kelly started the inning with a solo-home run. He finished the night 4-for-6 with five RBI. He now has a hit in each of his first 10 games as a Chukar.

In the fourth inning, the Mustangs pitching staff walked seven Chukars batters and hit two others as well. In total, the Mustangs pitching staff walked 14 hitters tonight. Chukars led 12-0 after four innings of play.

Eric Brodkowitz saved his best start for last as he heads to Tokyo to compete for Team Israel in the Olympics. He threw seven innings of scoreless baseball and struck out five. He didn't allow a hit or baserunner until the sixth inning.

Billings scored a run in the sixth on a Tristen Carranza RBI single, which was also the first hit for the Mustangs. Anthony Amicangelo added a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning as well but ultimately fell 20-3.

Billings recorded a season low two hits tonight while allowing the most runs on the season.
