LA CROSSE - The La Crosse Loggers used a couple of five-run innings as they dismissed the Wisconsin Woodchucks by a score of 13-6.

For the second consecutive night, it was the Loggers who capitalized first. In the second inning, Corey LeVier and Bobby Juan blasted back-to-back solo home runs, giving the Loggers a 2-0 lead. It was Juan's second consecutive at bat with a home run, after he hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning in the previous game.

La Crosse added to their lead in the bottom of the third when Jimmy Bosco scored on an RBI-single by clean-up batter Andrew Knapp.

The Woodchucks came back in the fourth with a vengeance. With Jamie Bruno on first and one out, Cody Regis tattooed his fifth home run of the season over the right-center field wall, drawing the Woodchucks to within one run. Later in the inning, Robbie De La Cruz knocked a single into right field that brought home Austin Coleman, tying the game at 3.

The Woodchucks wasted no time in taking the lead from the Loggers, as they did so in their next at bat. Danny Susdorf led the inning off with a walk, and he later scored on a two-out RBI single by Regis, giving the ‘Chucks a 4-3 lead.

The lead didn't last long, though, for the Woodchucks, as the Loggers scored five in the bottom of the fifth. The five-run inning was highlighted by yet another Bobby Juan home run, his third of the series and second of the game.

With the Loggers leading 8-4, the Woodchucks started their comeback attempt in the top of the sixth. The ‘Chucks got a pair of RBI-doubles from Susdorf and Dimitri De La Fuente to make it an 8-6 game.

However, the Loggers thwarted any plans the ‘Chucks had on winning the game in the bottom of the fifth. For the second consecutive inning, the Loggers batted around and scored five runs. Three of the runs scored on a two-run triple by LeVier, and LeVier scored on a throwing error by Aaron Gates.

That's how the game would end, as the Woodchucks dropped their fourth consecutive game. The ‘Chucks fell to 11-17 on the season, seven games out of the lead, and the Loggers improved to 11-17. The two teams will play again tomorrow night at 6:05 at Copeland Park.
