
Lunkers Lose Pitcher's Duel to Huskies

DULUTH - Duluth Huskies starter Austin Lubinsky went a full nine innings in picking up a 2-1 win over the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers Friday night at Wade Stadium. Lubinsky picks up his third win of the season, giving up only one run and striking out five.
The difference in the game was the two-run double from Duluth's Kevin Kuntz in the Bottom of the 7th that the put the Huskies up for good.
Lunker starter Charlie Henderson takes the loss despite pitching well, going six and a third, giving up two runs and striking out four. The Kuntz double came off of Lunker reliever Tyler Sparger, but the runs were charged to Henderson.
The Lunkers took a 1-0 lead in the 5th when a Wade Wass double brought home Nick Hamilton before the Huskies came back with two runs in the 7th.
With the win, the Huskies improve to (10-20) as the Lunkers fall to (11-20). The rubber match of the three game series is Saturday night at 7:05 from Wade Stadium. Kye Winter gets the start for the Lunkers against Dane Gronewald for Duluth.
