Madison Mallards News Release

MADISON, WI - August 5, 2011. The Madison Mallards play host to the Green Bay Bullfrogs in game two of their three-game set in a 7:05 p.m. contest at the "Duck Pond" Friday night. The Mallards will look to rebound after allowing five runs in the first two innings and tallying only three hits themselves against Green Bay a night ago.

The Mallards will send Nick Sutherland (Minnesota State - Mankato) to the mound. Sutherland is 2-2 with a 4.50 earned run average this season, and has been impressive over his last two starts. In the 14 innings he has pitched in those two starts, he has allowed just three runs, and has 11 strikeouts against only two walks. Sutherland has seen Green Bay twice this season out of the Mallards' bullpen and has allowed a total of five runs in four innings with two no decisions in two of the team's losses against the Bullfrogs this season.

Green Bay will counter with lefty Drew Bradshaw (San Diego State). Bradshaw is 2-0 on the season with a 4.11 ERA. He has made 11 appearances, which include five starts this season, and won his last start when Green Bay defeated Eau Claire 7-3 on July 30. Bradshaw has faced the Mallards twice this season, both in relief. In two innings of work, he has allowed four runs on five hits. The Bullfrogs are 5-6 when he pitches.

Friday will mark the final time Green Bay will play in Madison this season. Both teams will head to Joannes Stadium in Green Bay following the game to finish the three-game series in another 7:05 p.m. contest Saturday.
