Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release
WINNIPEG, MB - After an outstanding performance in the East Final, running back Chris Garrett has been rewarded by being named the CFL's Offensive Player of the Week.
Playing in his first-ever playoff game, Garrett rushed 29 times for an astonishing 190 yards and a touchdown. He also added one reception for ten yards giving him 200 combined yards in the game. Garrett was a late cut in training camp but was resigned in August and forced into the starting position when both Fred Reid and Carl Volny suffered season-ending injuries in September.
Garrett is the ninth different Blue Bomber to be named Player of the Week this season and it's the eleventh time in total a Blue Bomber has been awarded.
The Blue Bombers take on the BC Lions in the 99th Grey Cup on Sunday.
