Club Deportivo Chivas USA News Release
CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, July 14, 2010) - Chivas USA and World Access for the Blind will host a unique soccer clinic for blind children in Orange County on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Arena Soccer Park in Garden Grove, Calif. The clinic will be led by a certified Chivas USA academy coach who will teach the children basic soccer techniques. The event will also help raise awareness of the blind and demonstrate that they can overcome physical limitations and enjoy sports activities such as soccer.
An added treat for the children will be a special appearance by a Chivas USA player and the team's popular mascot, the ChivaFighter. Both will be on hand to support the children and to teach them soccer skills. The event is being sponsored by Chivas USA, Arena Soccer Parks, Soccer Garage, Color Digital Graphics, Hansen's Natural Beverage Company, and Play It Again Sports of Costa Mesa.
World Access for the Blind is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to facilitate the self-directed achievement of blind people.
