
Chivas USA Announce 2014 Preseason Schedule

CARSON, Calif. (Friday, Jan. 10, 2014) - Chivas USA announced today their 2014 preseason schedule in preparation for the club's 10th season in Major League Soccer. The Red-and-White will report at the StubHub Center on Monday, Jan. 27 for physical exams and will continue to train in Los Angeles through Feb. 14 as part of their first stage of camp.
The Goats will then head to Las Vegas to face the Colorado Rapids in the Las Vegas ProSoccer Challenge on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 7 p.m. (PT) at Sam Boyd Stadium. The exhibition will mark the first time that newly-appointed Red-and-White Head Coach Wilmer Cabrera faces his former club. It will also serve as a rematch from last year's inaugural ProSoccer Challenge, where the Rojiblancos came away with a 3-0 victory in February.

Following the match against the Rapids, Chivas USA will travel to Tucson, Ariz. for the second leg of their preseason schedule from Feb. 17 to March 2 to compete in the Desert Diamond Cup. The Red-and-White will kick off the six-team tournament facing USL-PDL side FC Tucson on Feb. 19 at 12 p.m. (PT), and will then face MLS sides the New England Revolution and Colorado on Feb. 22 and 26, respectively.
The competition will then culminate on March 1 with a final meeting between the six clubs based on tournament standings, with the top two teams battling for the cup, the third and fourth-place teams meeting and the final two clubs squaring off.

Upon the conclusion of the Desert Diamond Cup, Chivas USA will return to Los Angeles for final preparations to host the Chicago Fire in the season opener at the StubHub Center on Sunday, March 9, beginning at noon (PT).
