Chicago Fire FC News Release
CHICAGO (Jan. 10, 2014) - The Chicago Fire Soccer Club continues to build its roster and announced Friday that they have signed goalkeeper Kyle Reynish. Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Kyle is an experienced player who has had success at both the collegiate and professional level," said Fire Head Coach and Director of Soccer Frank Yallop. "He provides us with well-needed depth at the goalkeeper position and we're excited to add him to our roster."
Reynish was awarded the 2013 North American Soccer League Golden Glove award after recording a 0.92 GAA during the regular season, starting and playing 13 games, earning an 8-4-1 record and tallying five shutouts as the Cosmos finished first in the NASL Fall Season standings. Reynish preserved the clean sheet as the Cosmos defeated to Atlanta Silverbacks 1-0 to capture the 2013 Soccer Bowl.
A native of Valencia, Calif., Reynish won the 2006 national championship at the University of California-Santa Barbara. During his four-year career with the Gauchos, Reynish recorded a 0.82 GAA, 33-13-4 record and earned 23 shutouts.
Selected in the fourth round (43rd overall) by Real Salt Lake in the 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft, Reynish made eight appearances over six seasons at RSL.
