Fond du Lac Dock Spiders News Release
FOND DU LAC, WI- The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (25-17) were unable to pick up the sweep over the Lakeshore Chinooks (23-20) falling 4-2.
Peyton Sanderlin (Keiser) got his first start on the mound as a Dock Spider and did not disappoint. Sanderlin retired the order in the first three innings. He finished the night throwing for 5 innings, allowing three hits, one run, one walk, and dished out three strikeouts just facing 17 batter.
Lakeshore was able to get on the board first but Fond du Lac would answer right back in the bottom of the 5th. With two outs and runners on first and second Cole Zabowski (Ole Miss) picked up a base hit and put the Spiders up 2-1. For Zabowski RBI number 11 and 12.
The lead unfortunately would not stay for long as the Chinooks answered with a pair of runs of their own in the 6th, both coming with two outs. Lakeshore would add on an insurance run in the 8th not allowing Fond du Lac to complete the sweep.
Fond du Lac will embark on the four game road trip to Michigan for two games against the Kalamazoo Growlers and two against the Battle Creek Bombers. The first game will be tomorrow night vs. Kalamazoo at 6:05.
