Johnstown Chiefs News Release

Johnstown, PA (August 16, 2006) - The Johnstown Chiefs will be holding open tryouts to fill all of the 36 opportunities to sing the National Anthem prior to a 2006-2007 Chiefs home game this Saturday, August 19th beginning at 10:00 a.m. inside the Galleria Mall in Johnstown.

All tryouts will be a Cappella and the anthem can be performed solo, with a chorus, or as an instrumental. Anyone with this unique talent is encouraged to participate. Celebrity judges will be on hand to rate the performances to help determine this year's line-up of anthem singers to perform the Star Spangled Banner during the 2006-2007 season.

Contestants may register at the event, which will be held at the stage on the lower level of the mall by Auntie Anne's, or by contacting the Chiefs Office prior to Aug. 19th.

In addition to the auditions, the Chiefs will have other activities for fans, including a visit from the mascot Tom E. Hawk. Official team merchandise, gift vouchers, schedules and ticket information will also be available at the event.

The Johnstown Chiefs, "AA" affiliate of the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning, begin their 19th season as a member of the ECHL on October 21, 2006 at the Cambria County War Memorial in downtown Johnstown against the Pensacola Ice Pilots.
