
Chiefs Sign Speedy Forward Hayden Ostir

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs announced today the signing of forward Hayden Ostir, their 2nd-Round (36th Overall) selection in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft. He joins 1st-Round pick Jaret Anderson-Dolan prospects from the 2014 draft already signed.
Ostir, a 5'9", 164 lb. forward from Winnipeg, Man. scored 35 goals and 40 assists in 47 games with the Pursuit of Excellence Bantam AAA-1 program in Kelowna, B.C. during the 2013-14 season.
"Hayden is a very well-rounded player who brings a combination of competiveness and skill to our program," noted Spokane Chiefs Director of Player Personnel Chris Moulton. "He has a knack for scoring timely goals when his team needs it; a clutch player.
"[He] has the ability to be a leader for our team in the future. He leads by example in the way he plays," continued Moulton.
Ostir also impressed Spokane's scouting department as a pace-setter on the ice, doing everything with speed.
"We are very excited to have Hayden Ostir be a part of our organization and we are looking forward to him being a Chief in the near future," said Chiefs General Manager Tim Speltz. "Hayden plays the game with speed and skill, so we he will be an exciting player for our fans in Spokane."
