Chiefs O'Brien Field Set for Home Opener
The Peoria Chiefs return from a four-game road trip to begin the home portion of the 2008 schedule on April 7th at 6:30 PM against the Beloit Snappers. The 2008 season marks the return of former Cub and Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg as the Chiefs manager.
Chiefs Split Weekend Series with Burlington
Under Ryne Sandberg's leadership, the Chiefs started the season with a four-game series split on the road against the Burlington Bees over the weekend. Three of the four games went down to the wire with the Chiefs taking the finale 3-2 on Sunday. Overall, the Chiefs hit four home runs and allowed just eight earned runs in the four games for a team ERA of 1.96 through the first series.
Chiefs Face Kane County and Star from "The Real Housewives of Orange County"
When the Kane County Cougars come to town to take on the Peoria Chiefs this weekend, they'll be bringing more than just talented athletes with them. The Cougars have a new outfielder, Shane Keough, a player drafted by the A's in the 36th round in 2005. Keough is known to the public as more than just one of the players working his way to the majors. Keough is known to reality television fans throughout the country as the son of Jeana Keough, star of Bravo's hit television show, "The Real Housewives of Orange County."
