Johnstown Chiefs News Release
Tonight the Johnstown Chiefs (7-8-1) and the Peoria Rivermen (8-4-2) meet for the third time this season. The Chiefs have been idle since Saturday when they won their second straight game, a 3-1 win over the Lexington Men O'War. J.F. Boutin, Vladimir Nemec, and Dominic Forget scored the Chiefs goals. Mark Scally made 27 saves for his second win of the season. Peoria has been idle since Sunday when they suffered a 3-0 road defeat at the hands of the Wheeling Nailers. Duane Derksen made 24 saves in the contest for the Rivermen.
Johnstown/Peoria Season Series:
This is the third of eight games this season between the two teams. The Chiefs are 1-1-0 against the Rivermen this season and16-21-3 all-time. The two teams meet again tomorrow night at the War Memorial.

Jeff Sullivan was loaned to the Saint John Flames (AHL) today. He will be available for the Flames game tonight at Manitoba.....................Goaltender Peter Aubry was returned to the Chiefs yesterday from Saint John. To make room for Aubry the Chiefs released Dany Dallaire.......................The Chiefs are 5 for 16 (31%) on the power play in their last four games...........................The Chiefs have the worst home penalty kill percentage in the ECHL; allowing 13 goals on 37 opportunities (64.9%)........................Defenseman Phil Roy leads the Chiefs with 3 power play goals..........................J.F. Boutin has a goal and 7 assists (8 PTS) in his last five games........................Mark Scally is 2-0-1 with a 2.41 GAA and a 0.940 save percentage.............................The Chiefs are 0-5-0 when trailing after the first period.
Rivermen Notes:
Defenseman Chad Starling was recalled to the Rivermen's AHL affiliate Worcester yesterday......................The Rivermen are 5-3-2 in their last ten games and 2-3-0 in their last five games..........................Peoria is undefeated at home this season (4-0-1)............................Jason Lawmaster is 4th in the ECHL with 92 PIM.......................Tyler Rennette is tied for the league lead with three shorthanded goals...........................Six of Rennettes's nine goals have come on the power play...........................Goaltender Mathieu Chouinard is with the Rivermen on loan from the NHL's Ottawa Senators. He was a first round pick of the Senators (15th overall) in 1998................................Trevor Baker has four goals in his last five games....................Goaltender Duane Derksen is 0-3-0 in his last four games with a 5.03 GAA and a 0.825 save percentage.
