Chiefs Fall to Rivermen

Johnstown, PA- The Johnstown Chiefs had three leads during the game and still could not hold on, as they fell 4-3 to the visiting Peoria Rivermen Friday night at the War Memorial.

Tyler Rennette's second goal of the game with 6:05 to play was the game winner. The Chiefs lead 3-2 with just over 12:00 to in regulation before Rivermen defenseman Arvid Rekis tied the game 3-3. Kevin Granato also scored for the Rivermen, his first goal of the season.

P.L. Courchesne scored two goals for the Chiefs while Steve Hildenbrand tallied his second of the season for Johnstown.

Peoria goaltender Duane Derksen (4-4-1) got the win making 25 saves, while Chiefs goaltender Mark Scally (2-1-1) suffered his first loss of the season making 21 saves.

The Rivermen improve to 9-4-2 on the season, while the Chiefs fall to 7-9-1.

The two teams will face-off against one another again tomorrow night at the War Memorial. Game time is at 7:30 p.m.
