Chiefs In Everett For Game Four
March 28, 2008 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Spokane Chiefs News Release
The Spokane Chiefs remain on the road and will take on the Everett Silvertips in game four of the first round of the playoffs tonight holding a 3-0 lead in the series. A win by Spokane would put them in the second round versus the Vancouver Giants, the B.C. Division Champions who swept their first round series against the Chilliwack Bruins.
Tonight's game will begin at 7:30 with Mike Boyle going on the air at 7:00 on 1510 KGA with Comcast Hockey Tonight.
The Chiefs earned a 4-1 win on Wednesday night, backing up their home ice sweep last weekend, and took a commanding lead in the series. Dustin Tokarski, who finished the regular season with the third best goals against average in the WHL, stopped 28 shots and lowered his post-season GAA to 1.33. Ondrej Roman and Judd Blackwater each had a goal and an assist in the win.
Eight different players have scored 13 playoff goals as Spokane has allowed just four Everett goals. Fourteen players have registered points. On average, the Chiefs have outshot Everett 36.7-26. Wednesday night's game three was the first time this season in 11 games, regular season and playoff combined, that Everett has outshot Spokane.
Wednesday night's win also guaranteed that Spokane will host at least two more games in the post-season, whether that is games six and seven of the first round or games one and two of the second round.
Tickets to the Chiefs third and fourth home playoff games (tickets C & D) are currently on sale at the Chiefs office at (509) 535-PUCK or TicketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT.
