
Chiefs falls to Silvertips

Despite outshooting the Everett Silvertips 40-22, the Spokane Chiefs dropped a 2-1 decision on Wednesday night in the Spokane Arena. Leland Irving made 39 saves for Everett and helped the Silvertip penalty kill go 8-8, including twice when they were two men short, to help them to the road win.
The Silvertips scored first, a rebound in front by Zach Hamill, at 5:25 in the opening period.
Spokane scored the lone goal of the second when Drayson Bowman tallied his 30th of the year at 5:08 on a feed from Mitch Wahl.
The game winner was scored by Lukas Vartovnik at 12:04 of the third.
Spokane and Everett will renew acquaintances on Saturday night in Everett, the second game of a three game trip through the U.S. Division. The Chiefs will travel to Seattle on Friday before Saturday's date against the Silvertips. Spokane will finish the trip on Monday afternoon against the Portland Winter Hawks.
Spokane returns home on Friday, January 25th against the Thunderbirds on the Coeur d'Alene Casino's House of Fury Night.
