SYRACUSE (NY) - The Ottawa Lynx defeated the Syracuse Chiefs 5-3 in Spring Training action Thursday at the Blue Jays complex in Dunedin, Florida.
Dustin Majewski had two hits for the Chiefs, including a double. Many Mayorson and Justin Singleton each collected an RBI and Chip Cannon doubled for Syracuse.
David Purcey started on the mound for the Chiefs and allowed three hits and one run in two innings of work, did not allow a walk and struck out four Lynx. Kurt Isenberg, Jason Scobie and Jean Machi all pitched one scoreless inning in relief for Syracuse.
The Chiefs, 0-2, are off tomorrow and return to action on Saturday when they travel to the Phillies complex in Clearwater, Florida to take on the Lynx.
