
Bats knock off Indians 8-3 in spring training opener

BRADENTON, Fla. -- Louisville rallied for six runs over the final three frames to post an 8-3 victory over Indianapolis Thursday afternoon at Pirate City.
The Indians cracked the scoreboard first with a pair of runs in the first. LF Nyjer Morgan led off with a single and came around to score on CF Rajai Davis' triple. Davis came plateward moments later on RF Adam Boeve's groundout.
Louisville's Earl Snyder blasted a two-run homer to even things in the fourth. The Bats then manufactured a run in the seventh before Chris Dickerson highlighted a four-run eighth with a two-run dinger.
Morgan collected four singles on the afternoon, while Tribe SS Javier Guzman went 2-for-3 with an eigth-inning roundtripper.
Louisville LHP Luke Lockwood (2.0 IP, 2 H, 1 SO) earned the win, while Indianapolis RHP Felipe Garcia (2.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 SO) was pinned with the loss.
