Spokane Chiefs News Release
Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs have acquired a third-round pick in the 2027 WHL Prospects Draft from the Wenatchee Wild in exchange for forward Luka Shcherbyna (2006).
"While it is never easy to move a younger player, we feel this is a good opportunity for Luka to access more ice time going into his 17-year-old season," Chiefs General Manager Matt Bardsley said. "We wish him all the best in Wenatchee."
Shcherbyna played 2 games for Spokane as an Affiliated Player, making his WHL debut during the 2021-22 season on March 2 at Kamloops. The Vancouver, B.C. native was originally the Chiefs' 2nd-round pick (41st-overall) in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.
