CHICAGO - The Sky will look to start Go Green week with a win Wednesday night when they face the number one ranked Western Conference team the Phoenix Mercury at US Airways at 9:00 pm. CDT. This is the last game of a three game road trip having lost the first game to end their three-game winning streak to the San Antonio Silver Stars on Friday July 3. The Sky faced the Sacramento Monarchs last night at Arco Arena losing their second game in a row, 83-73.
On Thursday Sky guard, K.B. Sharp, will lead a park cleanup at Garibaldi Park in Chicago. Sharp, Sky Staff and members of the Green Urbanism group will pick up trash and lay mulch in the park. Fans are invited to participate and will be awarded a voucher for a free game ticket provided by AthletiCo.
The Sky's game on Friday will be Go Green Night at the UIC Pavilion presented by Jewel. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive packets of tree seeds courtesy of American the Beautiful Fund and the first 2,200 fans in attendance will receive an energy efficient light bulb courtesy of Citizens Utility Board.
